Registration for Back Tuck and Back Layout Certification Course

UK - Livingston, Scotland - Nu Moves Dances Studios
August 10

Location: Nu Moves Dances Studios - 2B St.Andrews Way, Deans, Livingston, EH54 8QH

Date and Time: Monday, August 10, 2026

9:00 am to 3:00 pm —Progressions, drills and spotting techniques (Lunch 30 mins)

3:15 pm to 5:00 pm —Practical exam (15min intervals)

This course focuses on the progressions, drills and spotting techniques to safely and effectively develop the back tuck and back layout.

Teachers will be given opportunities to spot throughout the course to gain confidence with the timing and placement of the back tuck and back layout spot.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Recommended: 4-5 years of acro teaching experience.
  • Certified in Aerial & Back Handspring Certification and Module Two Teachers Certification (may be In Training)

Teachers must attend with a demonstrator the minimum abilities;

  • Level 8 or higher and mastered the progressions leading up to back tuck and back layout. Example, side aerial, roundoff back handspring, cartwheel back handspring step out.
  • Dancers should have a high degree of stamina and conditioning and be able to safely perform these progressions independently and with a high level of proficiency. Example, hold a handstand for 1 minute, 25 handstand shoulder shrugs, 15 consecutive V-snaps, 10 push-ups.

Please note Acrobatic Arts reserves the right to withdraw a demonstrator from any course or practical exam if participation is deemed unsafe.

Please be advised that due to the difficulty level of this course, teachers will not be permitted to spot any dancer other than their own. If the dancer you attend with does not meet the minimum safety requirements, both the teacher and dancer will only be permitted to observe the course.

We do not recommend registering for all three certifications at once — Aerial & Back Handspring, Module Two, and Back Tuck & Back Layout — unless you have a strong acro teaching background and feel confident spotting higher-level skills.
