Registration for Aerial and Back Handspring Certification Course

Location: Classical Ballet Center Surrey, Lightwater Leisure Centre, Lightwater GU185RG 

Date: Tuesday, April 7th 2026  from 1:00pm - 5:00pm (+ practical exam 5:15pm to 7:30pm)

This course focuses on the progressions, drills and spotting techniques of the side aerial and the back handspring. There will be amble time to practice to gain confidence in the timing and feel of spotting these skills. Additionally, there will be an introduction to developing and spotting the front aerial. Course content delivered from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

***There is a practical exam for the Side Aerial and Back Handspring practical exam, required for M2 certification(15 mins in duration) between 5:15 pm and 7:30 pm. Times will depend on the queue of teachers.

Teachers are required to attend with a demonstrator working on Level 6 and above and ideally who have mastered the progressions leading up to side aerials and back handsprings.  IE: one hand cartwheels, chassé step hop (all cartwheels), back arabian limber, front & back walkover, handstand shoulder shrugs, hold handstand on the wall/plank for 1 minute (as a minimum) for this workshop.

***Module One is a prerequisite to taking this course. This course is ideal for teachers who do not feel comfortable spotting these skills, and is a prerequisite to the Module Two course.
